these boxers i'm wearing.. the elastic is all gone, so they're like 302423 sizes too big now, and they'd almost fall off if i wasn't wearing pants.

so the moral of the story is, good thing i'm wearing pants.

MCAS. You may or may not know them, but I love them! They are the "high stakes, self-esteem crushing exams(according to SCAM)" that all 10th grade Massachusetts kids have to pass to graduate highschool. They are 17 hours of testing. I LOVE THEM! It means I get almost no homework during them, plus no teachers quiz or test during them. I also get to miss 2 of my 4 classes each day. That accounted for my not having math or chem once last week. Can you think of anything better? (besides being out of school....I get out June 15th ughhh....) So all these people that stress over MCASing sophomores needn't worry. All is easy, and all is okay. :-)

dmb tonight at pac bell park was amazing. Trey Anastasio (phish) casme on and did a 20 minute version of "Lie In Our Graves" and they ended the night up with "Two Step" (that the kids next to me were screaming for the entire night, and that lasted almost 15 minutes). the show was great, with a huge mix of songs from almost every album, as well as a few that i had never heard before.

oh. and it was cold i bought a long sleeve T, and was still cold, even though i was dancing the whole time.

thank you, louis. thankyou.thankyou.thankyou.

So people keep making all these stereotypical judgements about me, just because i go to Princeton. But people are pushing a certain image about the students here..just read an article like this and you'll probably see where most people get these crazy ideas. yuck. not to say that we don't work really hard here, but what slim part of the student body did this guy talk to? Most people have actually managed to *gasp* keep being social and whatnot, despite the work.

The end is so hard!!!! I hate the random yuckiness involved in the end of the year. Everyone is trying to hand in last minute projects....and learn what the needed to all year. Better practice those scales.......two octaves....some minors here and there....And there are so many tests going on.....it is never a full class....who knows who is suppossed to be at what test..AP.....MCAS.....uugh. Then there are the numerous performances with nasty music like.....stars and stripes...and pomp and circumstance...give me a little M. Camphouse or V. Persichetti please....just a phrase of music will do...just not the star spangled banner...no!! maybe semper fidelis......that is really musically fulfilling.....get that uniform in....pay for that lost uniform hat!......clean out that music locker that was a trash can for the past four years.......this is why I became a band director....because I Iove the music....lol.

Coming back from school, I finally got some gifts my parents bought me from Italy on their vacation. Among which were a leather bracelet with my name typed onto it and a fairly large, framed, embroidered G clef necklace, which I'm apparently supposed to wear around my neck and hope my back doesn't break from holding it up (I'm e x a g g e r a t i n g).

Until recently I would have disagreed with Ken's quote macs are pretty cool, but the other day I used a G4, and it was the coolest thing. My friend has a digital video camera, and she made an awesome presentation using the iMovie software. I have been converted... -In other random news today I noticed Guster uses Blogger for thier "road journal"

ken, 21:23: #

ha ha ha i bought blue toilet paper for the shared bathroom on my floor, which is otherwise white! so now the bathroom clashes and no one is going to be in the shower when i need it in the morning! maybe.

ken, 17:45: #

not that i want to say anything bad about macs, or the os, but why couldn't they make the transparent part of the icons clickable? example: i open the "internet explorer folder". i somehow manage to click right in the little space inside the "e". result? nothing!

but otherwise, macs are pretty cool.

boiling water is not so much fun. when i was living in mozambique, i had to boil and filter all of the water i used - to drink, to cook, even to make ice. i got used to the 'bizarre' taste, but i'm not too sure i'd like to do it again. it is, however, better than dropping dead of cholera or some other wondrous disease.

emily, 22:11: #

This morning I received a friendly email from Princeton University saying they were instilling a precautionary boil water advisory. I guess NJ water really is not very healthy for drinking...
