so i'm working on this project for an entity at tufts. doing database work. have been for quite a bit now. so i'm working on the project on tuesday. the server crashes while i am working. now the blame for this has been laid on me and my account privileges have been revoked. so much trust inherent in the system. so much. even more amusing is the fact that these guys want me to do more work for them. after all, why would i not want to? they trust me so little that they revoke my ability to ssh into the system. the louis is mad. grrr.
well, you know, i'm just so pudgy..... actually, i'm not really pudgy per se [ although i've lost weight since i started - i was wondering where the third dimension of my body went... ], but people keep nagging me about my heart and how i need to exercise, so now i do.
if you're into xml or xhtml, beware of comments. msie will sometimes change your document from a nice-looking page into navigable xml document based on where you put comments. now that's a feature.cough
"oh, darling, lay back. and the crowd, not comfortable stand and look above, the clouds they opened up their heads, and let it down, and while i played there came a hand from skywards raining, all we could say was let it rain until it washed us all away."
As for you Louis, that is kinda concerning you're searching for those things on aol, Cindy makes a point ;)
That's not that bad though, a time ago someone searched for a huge array of sexual terms on google and a post of mine came up from another site, Small Talk, but they're experiencing some technical difficulties right now so no site to back me up. Not my finest hour, but rather interesting ;)
Again, I disappear into the ether from whence I came.
Big news of the day: Yesterday I auditioned for a guest choreographer from NY to be in a sweet modern production...today my name was on his cast list! YAY!
yesterday, bill asked for a high-res version of the clouds picture i shot several weeks ago. so, i tossed one together. while i was playing in photoshop, i checked out what it'd look like if i applied automatic level adjustment, and came up with something, well, fun. word of warning - they're 1600x1200, hence the filesizes are large - around 500 - 800 KB. here's links to both of them:
on another strange note, quiet city also shows up first if you search for "i wet my pants." there must be some crazy conversations going on at this site. take, for example, the one we're having now. mm hmm.
i only wish i was so bored that i'd use aol as a search engine. i noticed it while checking out the referral logs. i don't recall that mr. "wet my pants" stayed around for too long, though. i think he was looking for a different site.
[ this is an edited re-post of my entry on july 25, 2001 ]. on this national day or mourning, please take a moment to appreciate the United States of America.
pixelpile: "It's about a passion for photography, demonstrated by converting it to pixels, solely to enable sharing via this medium with others. Like you. That's what we are."
i'm proud to announce that i'm now a member of pixelpile [ and that i would have been in mid-august, had eudora not eaten an invitation from photodude ]. pixelpile really is something special; i'm honored to be posting with such good photographers. we'd all love to share our work with you.
yay. it really is nice to be back at school again. double yay. but at the same time, the same questions and issues, which i've been able to avoid all summer, are back again too. why does this one part always have to upset me?
today cindy and i went to a farmer's market [ aka 'mahket' ] at haymarket. the great thing about boston is that the customer ain't always right, as the courteous store managers pointed out to several chaps with such select phrases as "no way, asshole!" and "get your fucking hands off the food!" ah, boston; how i love thee so.
it's nice to be back in school again. also, it's nice to have a community photo site to peruse again [ now that it seems photographica is kaput ]. it's definitely worth taking the time and energy to check out pixelpile.org. some of my favorite photographers [ noah, photodude, and nigel, among many ] are showing off great work there.
