at the moment i'm a bit busy doing damage control at work from when i was in hawai'i, so i haven't had time to process the 700 or so photos i took during the trip. for the time being, enjoy this photo from the uss arizona memorial at pearl harbor.

a broken clock

a moment frozen in time: this clock, which had belonged to captain thomas kirkpatrick (chaplain corps), was recovered from the uss arizona. the time coincides with the bombing that sunk the ship.

On a serious note, you shouldn't allow yourself to expect any more than people are willing to give, you should just expect people to be themselves, don't expect anything other than that, and only time will tell what that idea really means and what it entails. People can only surprise you if you let them, and only hurt you for the same reasons.
