a bridge across duxbury bay

the bridge across the bay at duxbury beach - march 31, 2001

the town of duxbury had a fight over how this bridge should be built. (history: the bridge had to be rebuilt in the mid-1980s due to some idiot setting the old one on fire.) it came down to a vote at town meeting whether to build the bridge out of metal or out of brasilian hard wood. a 51%/49% vote and a former rainforest or two later, duxbury bridge now acts as the primary link from the yuppy part of town to the barrier beach.
