apple tree and cow wind vanes, davis squre - march 7, 2001
as part of the construction of the extension of the t from harvard square to alewife, seven hills park (a park extending from davis square to alewife) was created. seven hills park has signs to tell you about somerville’s history, and several historically-inspired wind vanes. these two, the apple tree (the snow is real) and the cow, represent the city’s apple orchards and its old “Milk Way.”
